Tara Curse Wasps Return With Sting Is Newry's On the way. |
Curse of Tara may have a sting in its tail As the shadow of desecration looms for the sacred site of Tara, the debate over the rights and wrongs of what is happening there has focused mainly on evidence from rivals within the field of archaeology, impassioned arguments by environmentalists, political posturing on all sides and weighty scholastic allusions to the site’s historical import. But there has been nothing yet about the occult significance of what is unfolding at Tara. In the past fortnight, more than half a dozen large nests of wasps have been encountered in the valley. In Celtic lore, the wasp is associated with the anger of Mother Earth at man’s wrong doing. Its unexpected appearance in a given location was believed to portend disaster or ill fortune for anyone messing around with fairy forts or fairy rings. In African culture, the wasp embodies powers of sublimation and transmutation. It was, and still is in many parts of the continent, believed to make its appearance to “transform the profane into the sacred”. But what can a stupid old insect do? The answer is that this depends very much on context. Remember what became of Lord Carnarvon in 1922 when he helped open Tutankhamun in Egypt ? The age-old curse of the pharaohs caught up with him!. A few months after his well-publicised intrusion into forbidden territory, he cut an infected mosquito bite on his face while shaving. He became violently ill. The moment he died in a Cairo hospital, all the lights in the city went out,and at the precise moment of death, his dog back in England emitted an ear-splitting howl and also dropped dead. The curse of the pharaohs claimed quite a few other victims, too. Which brings me back to Tara. An expert on folklore and mythology warned recently that the “curse of the fairies” might be invoked by the building of the M3 in the Tara Valley. He may have been only half serious, but if I were a road builder, or one of those politicians behind the project, I’d be getting quite edgy. Here In Newry the same worry may be evident in some would be castles and such places, as things unfold in regard to desecration attached to our own Newry Tara site, ( Newry abbey ?) where ever that may be ? ) LOL. Is it purley a coincidence that these 2 places should be seen to be fighting for survival at this period in time, are the long ago link's beginning to prove true, stranger thing's have happened in this wonderfull land of our's. However the curse of the Blessed Virgin Mary reads a little more sinister than that of the sting of a bee. Legend has It, that this ancient Abbey curse came about when some miss led person began unearthing sacred floors, In an Abbey just down the road, I will not go into dthe gorey details of what happened to the unfortunate's involved, but if you relly want to find out try typing it into google, far be it for me to be called a scare monger on top of all else that i and my family have been called since i took up this fight against the never was Castle of Bagenal, but im happy to say, i dont have to worry about ancient curses, only modern ones. Did you know this fish were fished for along Water Street years ago, down through the big grates or gratens ns as they called them, back In 50s, some stories never die out, fact belies fiction over and over. TARA: Breaking News! EU officials urge halt to M3 work Here we have major Irish newspapers orchestrating news of EU officials urging a halt to M3 work EU officials urge halt to M3 work Ireland.com - Breaking news Last Updated: 30/07/2007 20:26 http://www.ireland.com/newspaper/breaking/2007/0730/breaking61.htm EU officials have called on the Irish Government to halt work on part of the M3 motorway after concern was expressed about the impact on newly discovered ruins at the Hill of Tara, it emerged today. In a letter to Minister for the Environment John Gormley, chairman of the union's petitions committee Marcin Libicki said that in light of the 2000-year old ruins found at Lismullin, work on that section of the project should be halted and a route review carried out. The committee received a number of protest letters about the motorway route from environmentalists. Earlier this month MEP Kathy Sinnott claimed the construction work was illegal as under EU Law the project needed an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). While one was carried out in 2003 it was done on the basis that no national monument lay in the motorway's path. A spokesman for Mr Gormley said the minister's concern was the proper excavation of the Lismullin ruins and he is seeking legal advice on the EIA. "Several members [of the committee] voiced concerns about recent developments related to the M3 project at Tara and Lismullin and the Skryne Valley," Mr Libicki wrote. "Many members, including myself, share the view that in the light of the discovery of previously unrecorded, yet vitally important archaeology on the current route at Lismullin and nearby, urgent action is needed to halt existing works in this area and to review the routing of this section of the M3 motorway." The Lismullin site, thought to be over 2000 years old, was discovered during work on the road project in April and was later given national monument status. In one of his final acts of office, former Minister for the Environment Dick Roche controversially signed an order of preservation by record for the site, meaning the prehistoric henge would be photographed, sketched and measured before being razed to make way for the motorway. Following advice from the Attorney General, Mr Gormley said he had no power to review the order and state archaeologists claimed the ruins were too fragile to be preserved. Mr Libicki said Europe's common heritage must be protected. "I am very much aware of the fact that there are many complex factors to be taken account of in ordering a review but I trust the outcome will be a decision which complies with Ireland's obligations under EU law and which respects and protects a most important feature of Europe's common heritage," he wrote. A spokesman for Mr Gormley said an immediate reply was issued to the letter, in which he stressed his powerlessness to re-route the motorway, but reiterated his desire to properly excavate the fragile Lismullin ruins. ////////////////////////////////////////////////// Irish Examiner, breaking news EU officials urge halt to Tara motorway work 30/07/2007 - 19:21:29 EU officials have called on the Government to halt work on part of the M3 motorway after concern was expressed about the impact on newly discovered ruins at the Hill of Tara, it emerged today. Most links found on this web site connect to first edition historical manuscripts
& publication's showing precise statement's as written & or proof photo's of
the place or point that is reefered to in regard to the real historically recorded
annals' of Newryabbey in Co Down N. Ireland. All of these book's, map's,
leaflets, guides, history book's, religious writing, & almost 200 year's of
Newry & Mourne's memoirs & town guides along with associated English edited Newry
town guides, leaflets & booklets & abbey supplements are the author's (Oliver
Curran's) own Library. Important references from medieval Cistercian's
records along with period English State papers are included in order to show nothing
but the truth in all eventualities. The author was born within
the immediate Newryabbey enclosure & spent part his youth attending the abbey
school & know's at first hand the in's and outs of the whole Abbey area like
the back of his hand. In short he climed the walls of the abbey & went places where he wasnt supposed to & discovered some boy hood scary revealing truth's. He see's the recent errecting of an alleged lost English
Castle as the preverbial English Cukoo. He sees the English Lottery funding
for this unrecorded entity as an ongoing attemt to maintain an English heritage
for the planter culture that has prevailed here for 450 years, of which he
admits his members of his ancient family were part of . In short he see's
this distortion of Newryabbey's historically recorded history, as an affront
to his ancient Irish culture, & to those other culture's that were nursed with
in this foundation of St Patrick. |
Ireland is an old country, built on the earliest bones of time, the whole country
is a vast archaeological site with millions of recorded & unrecorded features
that could be anything from an interesting stone discovered on a hill, to
a forgotten ringfort on a hill opposite.. Resonant with local attachment
and deep continuities, it has the worlds most ancient historic landscapes that
gives our uniqueIrish identity. Newry played a very important role
in the ancient times and is recorded by the bards as doing so through out the
ages. Newry is a very special place but during the past 50 years,an intensive
wrecking and bulldozing of our ancient towns embankments & medieval building
that are irreplaceable & the land marks used by our ancestors are all but
extinct & while you may be under the illusion that Newry began only 850
years ago you are in for a big supprise. The Newryabbey was once called
the college of Newry, the last time this term was used was in 1456 when Infact
the Abbey went under a serious rebuilding scheme & like many others In Ireland
at this period was refurbished, many of the building survived after the reformation
and indeed some still survive today. Newry & Mourne say's theres none??
The worst period of destruction for the Abbey was during the Corrys
dynasty, when it is believed that this once very famous Abbey was brought
to the edge of extinction, they simply got the Newry Abbey's plural mixed up.
This shows you cant all ways believe what you read, especially when much
of Newrys past Is now under question , much was written to decieve to suit
a new English way of life here. The continuity Is rife still In regard
to this same Abbey when you look at the story invented by Belfast expert's to butter
over the fabricated horiffic story surrounding the 33 mutilated body's found.
